Tomorrow is the “big” day and many are the prophets that are ready to pronounce the doom of our nation if the wrong person is elected. The truth is, that from a purely Christian perspective, over the past forty years it hasn’t mattered who we have elected, our nation has continued on a wicked decline. And quite frankly, things are not nearly so bad as some of our Christian brothers and sisters have experienced.
In the first century under the environment of some great missionary work and evangelistic explosions our brothers and sisters saw the streets of Rome lit with the burning corpses of Christians. In the “wonderful” days of the reformation our believing brothers and sisters saw the leaders of the reformation brutally beaten, dismembered and burned. As Christ initiated His work, which would eventually be the churches, we see His personally trained men all forsaking Him and denying they even knew Him.
In the face of such brutal treatment and even personal failures, the work of Christ has successfully held together and traveled through the last 2000 years. What happens tomorrow evening will not threaten the “The Good Ship Christianity”. And as much as we patriots love America, our first love is Christ and the business of the Churches. What we care about the most will go on until His return and there are wonderful blessed days ahead for His own. You can take that to the bank!
