Over and again I come back to Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” God has not abandoned this world. He is actively overseeing the events and course of this world. He has not left the world to choose its own way or to determine its own destiny. The difficulty we face is in the reality that God has chosen to intentionally hide Himself in these times;
Isaiah 45:15
Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
And the point is not that God cannot be seen, but rather that He will not be seen! The ignorance of man regarding the person of God is a chosen condition. And incidentally it is a very consequential condition. We live in a time when the consequences of that condition are beginning to roll in upon our nation. Oh! How we would like to avoid or avert those coming consequences. And it seems we begin to think that the solution to this is a political turnaround in our land. We need to understand that our political situation is only a reflection of our spiritual situation. Politics is not a solution, it is only a reflection.
Our nation in the aggregate is making a choice and the future of our land will be determined by that choice. Here is what this looks like in the Scriptures:
Romans 1:18-25
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Blessed believer, don’t come unglued and fret in these days. God is yet on the throne. He may send a revival. And then again this may be the time of His return. Whatever, His children are in His hands and are safe and secure.
