It may be that you find this language distasteful. I battle with the same reaction. However, it is the language that God has chosen to give description to the religious and political organization that will dominate the world in the last times. I wonder how else God could reveal the wicked and despiteful character of this coming institution that will rule the earth in the future.
God has given much space in the prophetic Scriptures to speak of this coming institution. It is also spoken of as Babylonianism. What it really is, in essence, is the developed organization of man to control and dominate the earth in disregard and rejection of God.
It is likely not something that will suddenly appear, but rather something that has been brooding and developing for many years. One of the things that fascinates me about this organization is its wealth. God reveals that this group is able to capture and hold the allegiance of both world leaders and the common people of the earth. I imagine that it will be the extreme wealth of this group that will be both the attraction and the glue that holds this whole thing together.
This group will likely hold the power of employment. It will hold the access to lucrative contracts and it will be able to handsomely reward those who are faithful to it. It appears to me that this group will be the predecessor of the coming kingdom of the Antichrist.
In this line of thought, it is interesting to see how internationalism has begun to supersede nationalism in America. More and more we find our leadership even mocking nationalism in preference to their “sophisticated” view and hunger for internationalism. The stage is being set for the “great whore” of Revelation chapter seventeen. As we see these things it is a good reminder to heed the warning and encouragement of the following Scripture:
Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
