A Privileged Position

Published on 06/06/11

I find it difficult to fully comprehend and understand what a privileged position we hold in this present world as the children of God. And it is likely only as we get older that we begin to fully grasp this wonder. Notice with me these words of the Psalmist David:

Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

It was David’s experience as he grew older to observe that God was in all ways faithful to His children. We can see this declared in the multitudes of promises of the Scriptures, but to actually see it validated in life is another confirming matter. I don’t wonder that we have a difficult time believing this because it is one of those matters that just seems too good to be true. Notice with me some of the delightful promises of Scripture:

Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:

Matthew 6:33-34 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

What an absolutely delightful position we hold in Christ. Learn to take pleasure and confidence in these promises of God.
