As we study the prophetic scriptures it is quickly observed that the coming judgments upon the earth are incredibly severe. This is something that captures our attention, as it should. Imagine a third of the earth burning up in wild fires! Imagine a third of the salt waters being turned to blood! Imagine a third of fresh water becoming poisonous! Imagine loosing all light for a third part of each day and night! Life will be altered in ways we just cannot imagine. And it will be obvious at the time that these judgments find their inescapable origin in God.
The only conclusion can be that
1) God has a controversy with man, and
2) That God is angry.
Hosea 4:1
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
It seems we need the continual reminder that the “…earth is the Lord’s…”
Psalm 24:1
A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
Unfortunately we have bought into the idea of secularism that we are free to order our lives and the world after our own wishes and imaginations. That just is not true. The day of accountability is coming.
Isaiah 45:23
I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
To live in disregard to God just is not acceptable. And unfortunately that is just how America and other nations are living today.
