This past spring has been unusual in the amount of natural disasters that we have experienced.
The earthquakes in China, the monsoons in Myanmar, a much larger number of tornadoes in the Midwest and the devastating floods in the Midwest seem to have captured our attention. We may add to this the growing tension in the Mideast especially with the growing threat of nuclear power in the hands of Iran.
When we understand the nature of Iranian religion and their interest in complete disruption and disorder we are right to entertain great concern. The worldwide fuel crisis only adds more tension to the whole. Europe is experiencing much disorder and anger over this fuel price issue.
From a religious perspective we are experiencing a rapid growth in apostasy and associated disorders. It really is no stretch to suggest that the foundations of both our nation and our world are crumbling. Every major election seems incredibly more dysfunctional than the last. It is not inappropriate to ask and wonder if we are entering into the great apocalyptic time.
However, it is certainly too early to suggest that that is where we are, but it is a good time to remember that God can bring a nation and an entire world to its knees in horror with no major effort. I was amused to hear our politicians use the Katrina matter as fodder for their political cannons, suggesting that we ought to be prepared to care for these events. It is God's merciful providence that we need, for we are in no way capable to prevent or recover from the application of His anger.
I urge you to use these days as a reminder of God's great power and authority and get rightly associated to Him before it is forever too late.
