Yesterday in our study of Ecclesiastes chapter eight we examined our responsibility to trust God in all of the events of our lives.
Solomon was exposing the reality that often our lives do not reveal the real evidence of our commitment to righteousness with the pleasant results and rewards that we expect. This is a time in life when faith must stand as the real securing and fortifying force of our lives.
Just this morning I was reading of king Asa, who was a good and faithful king but in the end of his life he failed by a simple lapse of faith. You can read the account of this in 2 Chronicles chapters fifteen and sixteen. It should serve as a reminder to us to always trust in God.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
