There is a theme that runs through the New Testament Scriptures that I think we ought to make much of today. As we experience our nation and the world cascading into oceans of foolishness it would be well for us to reflect on the ultimate victory of Christ and His people. God’s little band of folks that serve as the salt of the earth and light of the world will ultimately prevail and reign with Christ on this earth.
The last chapter has been written and we know full well that as we approach the end times things will be crazy and tough. This is no time to abandon our post or to give way to discouragement. If indeed we are approaching the end of times it is a great time to live and a time of great responsibility to be faithful and true. It certainly is no time to compromise or to look and agonize for the world’s approval. It is a time to stand tall, to live in holiness and righteousness with great hope and expectation. It is a time to remember well these thought from the pen of the apostle Paul:
Romans 12:1-2 (KJV)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
