This whole matter of making judgments is something that commonly comes under scrutiny in our circles. It would be well for us to take a deep breath before we enter into a discussion about it and be careful not to draw conclusions too quickly.
The Scriptures have much to say about this matter and it behooves us to become far more comprehensive in our Biblical knowledge of judgments. It seems to me that often the entire idea of judgment is washed over with a silly notion of a mercy-filled indulgence that just tolerates any behaviors and attitudes. This just is not true:
John 12:48 (KJV) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Christ makes it abundantly clear that His Word will be the standard that brings judgment upon all men. If you wish to participate and have any measure of success in some sport activity you will be required to know the rules. Likewise, if you wish to prevail in this matter of life, death and eternity, you best become informed about the rules.
The Bible leaves us no hope of prevailing while trusting in some self-imagined standard of indulgence and leniency. The book of First John is all about the standard and evidence of eternal life. You should acquaint yourself with that book. Lay it upon yourself as a template so that you can assess your status for eternity. In the end, ignorance will be no excuse.
