It comes as no great revelation to observe that much is being said and done these days under the projected fear of “climate change”. Scientific models are being arranged and fostered to appeal to the fear of our world’s people to force environmental ideas that seem to me to have some other greater agenda behind them.
I think that it ought to be observed that while we, as Americans, have had to at times enter into battle with industrialists over caustic environmental activities, we for the greater part have been very prudent environmentally. I have done a modest bit of world travel and in that found that America is one of the few places where our water may be used without fear of ingesting some unwelcome bacteria or destructive chemical. It was a conservative president who over forty years ago instituted the EPA. My point is that we have been environmentally careful.
The fear mongering that is being done these days seems to me to be a very different thing. To suggest that the world climate is going to collapse based on models and projections which really have no definitive scientific basis seems absurd to me. It is much like the early spring models that meteorologist use to predict hurricane season. They are seldom right in their prognosis.
Now, my training is not in science, but in the Bible and in the beloved Scriptures we find a very clear statement regarding the stability of our climate. It is in the book of Genesis:
Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
It was God the Creator that made this promise and He confirmed it with that lovely rainbow that we often observe. The bottom line is that this is God’s planet and He has promised to preserve it. I am just saying that this is another factor that ought to be considered in any environmental discussion.
