Ambassadorship

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Being ambassadors is something we do with God, not apart from God. It is not a work that we attempt in our own strength, but something we attempt to do in cooperation with what He is currently doing. In order to do that it requires that we be schooled in how God works and what the evidence of His actions looks like.

In this subject I find Psalm 107 to be very helpful. Even a quick study of this Psalm reveals that mankind fall into four different classes or categories and that God deals with them after their own particular characteristics. In each case He brings them into crisis and that crisis is the door of opportunity to address them with the claims of the Scripture and the place they hold before God.

If you are genuinely interested in being a good ambassador a good activity for you would be to study this Psalm so that you can identify these times of crisis and prepare yourself to lead your children, friends, neighbors, relatives, work companions and whoever else through these times successfully.

Most of all, be aware that God is forever at work around us in the lives of others. God loves this world and desires to bring these folks to Himself. We are here to assist in this blessed and rewarding work.
