Well! We have just lived through another Super Bowl Hype! All this talk about the big game and the “legacy” of different players. It is Monday and for most of the world it has become “ho-hum”. We are going about our lives and have another extreme illustration of the vanity of this life. Not that we cannot enjoy sports, but I think that the fans get far more out of joint on these things than the players, at least more than most of the players. The players seem to see it more as a game. These athletes will adjust and rest and gear up for another year, while the fans hold on to a perpetual animosity. This characteristic of the fans bodes well for sport networks because they can play on it and hold up their ratings by stoking the fires of competition and even ill-will. They will talk and talk and talk about things that in the end are only vanity. And it seems to me, that mean while the Devil holds the attention of millions away from the real issues of life.
Let’s get real, thousands upon thousands of souls march daily into the eternal fires of hell. There is a far more important game out there being played and it is the game of life. And in this game there are real winners and losers.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Romans 10:9-11 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Will you walk off the “field of this life” as a winner or a loser? The choice is yours and it has to be made now!
