Things Just Don’t Add Up!

I have been spending a lot of time in the following Scripture:

2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

You would naturally think that if we are progressively transformed into the image of Christ that we would be quite attractive. We believe that only because we have a great love and admiration for Christ. The vast majority of this world however does not share that love and admiration. Christ in the time of his earthly ministry displayed great power along with the righteousness and kindness of His person and yet was mostly rejected. John the Baptist of whom Christ said that he was the greatest of prophets was also mostly rejected:

Matthew 11:16-20 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows, And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented. For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children. Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

Our mission is to be like our Savior and let us not fool ourselves it will not be overwhelmingly accepted or approved. I think we just need to remind our selves that our experience will not be altogether unlike the experience of our Savior and commit to just being faithful, gracious and trust in our God.
