The Believer’s Hope

Published on 06/27/11

Modern Christianity has become so carnal and off-center that it seems we must continue to affirm what our real values and issues are. With respect to our hope it is imperative that we keep this matter perfectly clear. Our hope is an eternal matter and not a matter of this time or this present world. Note with me please the following verses of Scripture:

Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

This hope of the glory of God is the unimaginable future we have with Christ at His return. Paul speaks of it again just a couple of chapters later:

Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Paul is very candid in stating that our present times are times of suffering. Christ affirmed the same:

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Our hope is all wrapped up in the day and time of Christ’s return. Let us not be side-tracked by the vanities of this present world.
