As believers, if we take the Bible for what it says, we must conclude that every event of life that we face has crossed God’s desk first. It seems to me that the Scriptures clearly affirm this reality. Consider just these two verses:
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I suppose the most stringent argument against this is the sheer magnitude of this task. To think that we have such a prominent place in God's thoughts is rather tough to accept. But look as king David’s words:
Psalm 40:5
Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
If we add to this Jesus’ statements about sparrows and the hairs of our head it seems to me that the argument is conclusive. God has a very personal relationship with His children. A hymn writer put it this way:
“…more secure is no one ever than the loved ones of the Savior…”
If you know and have accepted Christ as your Savior, this is your position in life right now. Let me encourage you to let what is true affect your life and attitude every moment.
