For the believer this is indeed a blessed thought. It is a reference to the future reign of Christ on this earth. Isaiah gives us some insights to this coming period of time. He states that the “…lion will lie down with the lamb…” What a peaceful and enjoyable time that will be. I am known for my fear (I call it respect) for grizzly bears and my reluctance to hike where they are common. I just look forward to the time when nature will be changed and that caution will no longer be required. I am content to wait for that day.
Wherever you draw the line on that approaching time, it is important for you to contemplate it. There is a delightful future in place for this planet. Man will not bring in that future. These guys that bluster about “change” need to have a new respect for their inability. There are likely a few minor things that we are capable of handling but the nature of our world is outside of our jurisdiction. And it is that nature that causes the problems. The best laid plans and programs of man will be abused by man. This is a limited issue. It is limited by God and will be corrected by His return. Hear the words of the angels on the day of Christ’s resurrection:
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Oh happy day!
