In Everything Give Thanks

That is a huge requirement, but it is what the Word lays upon each of us as a believer. The only credible argument for such a requirement is the absolute sovereignty of God. However, we must couple with this the absolute love and compassion of God. Only in the clear light of how God is revealed in the Scriptures can we faithfully and confidently comply to such a requirement.

It will not do for us to have a partial knowledge of God. It is only as we grow to know Him better that we can respond to all of the usual and unusual events of life with thanksgiving. Our gratitude and thanksgiving is not subject to the events of life, but rather to the person of God.

It reminds me of a song we often sing; “I love Him better every day”. To know Him is to trust and love Him.
